Using high-tech materials and manufacturing techniques originally developed for their flagship Carbon line, Illusion built their Luccent Series subs to be compact and lightweight without compromising their commitment to great sound. One look will tell you they're something special.
Cool runnings
The first thing you'll notice is that this Luccent Series L12 12" sub looks a little different. The sub's magnetic motor sits in front of the cone, a big change from the rear-mounted magnet you find in most speakers. This makes the sub significantly shallower, so you can use it in a wider variety of installations. This unique design also allows heat to dissipate from the front of the sub, instead of building up inside your bass enclosure. The front-mounted motor also uses heat sink fins for even more cooling, which means you can run this sub longer at higher volume levels.
Modern motor
This sub features a neodymium magnet that offers more control than a conventional magnet with a fraction of the weight. The motor's patented design allows extended cone travel for deeper bass with very low distortion. The polypropylene cone with its rubber surround handles up to 250 watts RMS, and the cast aluminum basket with its black powdercoat finish supplies the stability necessary to turn that power into deep, satisfying bass.
