When Illusion Audio visited Crutchfield HQ, we'd heard about their CES Innovations Awards, so the buzz about their speakers was impressive, and Illusion's aim to “bring true home audiophile sound from the listening room into the car” was bold. So, naturally, we were curious to hear if these speakers lived up to the hype. We'll spare you the drama and just cut to the chase – these speakers sound phenomenal.

Take a serious step up in sound

Illusion Audio's Luccent Series car speakers are a powerful offering for your vehicle, giving you the advanced technology of their flagship Carbon Series at a lower price. Just like the Carbon speakers, every aspect of this Luccent L6 component car speaker system has been pondered, fussed over, and perfected. Illusion uses a special damping material on the polypropylene woofer cone, so it can handle the abuse of high-volume playback while giving your music depth and presence. Illusion uses a silk surround on the polymer aluminum dome tweeter for optimal detail and incredibly smooth highs.

That's really the magnet

Check out the one-of-a-kind woofer structure, which places the magnet in front of the speaker, rather than hiding it behind the woofer cone. This smart design helps dissipate heat more effectively for better power handling, and makes these woofers a better fit in more car doors.

Versatile crossover system

The system's premium crossover allows you seven levels tweeter attenuation to craft the perfect sound for your vehicle. You can also amplify the woofer and tweeter separately for more control over your sound.
